New York, 22 March (STA) - Financial monthly Global Finance has listed Slovenia's biggest bank, NLB, the best Slovenian bank in 2012. This is the 15th time NLB ranked among the best emerging market banks in Central and Eastern Europe.
Global Finance selected best banks in 22 countries of Central and Eastern Europe based on input from analysts, corporate executives and banking consultants.
Criteria for choosing the winners included growth in assets, profitability, strategic relationships, customer service, competitive pricing and innovative products.
In the overall region, the magazine selected Raiffeisen International as the best bank, highlighting the operations of its subsidiaries in Albania, Romania and Serbia.
"We remain in an unusually challenging environment for banks and their customers. More than ever, customers are demanding superior competence from their banking partners. These are the banks best providing that competence," Global Finance said on its website.
