Ljubljana, 25 November (STA) - Slovenian tourist resorts and attractions drew 281,369 people in September, 3% more than in the same period last year, the Statistics Office said on Thursday. The number of overnight stays was virtually level with the August figure, at 785,042.
The number of tourists in the first nine months of the year also remained unchanged compared to a year ago, at 2.4 million. The number of Slovenian guests dropped by 3% year-on-year to 882,166, while the number of foreign tourists rose by 2% to 1.52 million.
Between January and September, tourists generated 7.3 million overnight stays, which is 2% less than in the same period in 2009. The number of overnights by domestic guests was down by 5% to 3.2 million, while those by foreigners were up by 1% to 4.1 million.
The number of Slovenian visitors fell by 6% to 82,909 in September compared to a year ago, while the number of foreigners rose by 7% to 198,460.
