Ljubljana, 21 June (STA) - Factory-gate prices rose 2.9% in May over the year before and were 1.3% higher than in April, the Statistics Office said on Monday. Output prices on foreign markets went up by 3.2% and on the domestic market by 2.6%.
Higher prices were recorded in manufacture of basic metals (29.1%), water collection, treatment and supply (10.5%), and in manufacture of textiles (7.0%).
On the other hand, prices went down the most in printing and reproduction of recorded media (14.4%), electricity (2.1%) and manufacture of electrical equipment (1.1%).
Compared to the month before prices increased the most in manufacture of basic metals (7.6%), manufacture of fabricated metal products (2.3%), printing and reproduction of recorded media (2.2%), electricity (1.3%) and in other manufacturing (1.2%).
Price decreases were observed only in manufacture of apparel and food products, by 0.4% and by 0.1% respectively.
