Koper, 26 April (STA) - The group around port operator Luka Koper recorded a EUR 2.9m loss in 2010, shows the company's audited report published on Tuesday, while the unaudited report from end of February quoted a net loss of EUR 1.6m. The loss is however still minimal compared to 2009, when it reached EUR 66.6m.
The group generated EUR 127.7m in operating revenues in 2010, which is up 10% from 2009 and 2% above plans, while also turning an EUR 8.2m operating loss from 2009 into a EUR 14.2m operating profit in 2010, according to the report.
In 2010, the Luka Koper group received EUR 2.3m from dividends and sale of shares, but financial expenses totalled at EUR 19.8m - EUR 8.6m in interest on the parent company's loans for investments and EUR 11.1m in write-downs.
For 2011, Luka Koper plans a 7% increase in cargo transport to 16.46m tonnes, a 3% growth of operating revenues to EUR 132.16m and a net profit of EUR 7.6m.
