Ljubljana, 27 November (STA) - The group around railways operator Slovenske železnice reported on Wednesday EUR 354.5m in revenue and a EUR 8.4m net profit for the first nine months of the year after it had suffered net loss of EUR 4.8m in the same period last year.
The amount of goods transported in the first nine months was up 4.2% to 12.66m tonnes and the number of passengers increased by 9.4% to 12.34m.
The growth also continued in October, making for a 5.6% increase in goods transported to 14.3m tonnes. Passenger figures increased to 13.7m in the first ten months, according to the first estimates
Total group operating revenue in the January-October period is estimated to be 10% higher than in the first ten months last year.
