Ljubljana, 16 April (STA) - The registered unemployment rate in Slovenia remained level at 14.2% in February, after two consecutive months of considerable growth, but rose 0.6 percentage points year-on-year, the Statistics Office said on Wednesday.
The registered unemployment rate among men stayed level at 13.7% in February, while the rate among women edged down by 0.1 percentage points to 14.8%.
The registered unemployment rate stood at 13.6% a year ago, after which it had been decreasing until September. Later it started growing again, the highest increase was registered in December and January, according to the Statistics Office.
A total of 129,764 people were registered as unemployed with the Employment Service in February, which is 79 individuals fewer than in January (-0.1%). In year-on-year comparison, the number of jobless rose by 4.6% in February.
The Employment Service has already released figures for March, when a total of 126,730 were registered as unemployed. This figure is 2.3% down from February, but 3.3% up year-on-year.
