Ljubljana, 07 March (STA) - Car maker Renault and household appliance maker Gorenje remain the most trusted brands in Slovenia, according to the Trusted Brand 2013 survey by publisher Reader's Digest. Among the top 40 are also mobile operator Mobitel, the NLB bank, energy company Petrol and retailer Mercator.
Slovenian subscribers of Reader's Digest picked 40 most trustworthy brands, of which 20 were global and 20 were local.
Among global brands, the list is topped by Renault cars and Gorenje household appliances. These are followed by HP personal computers, Nokia mobile phones, mobile operator Mobitel and Canon cameras.
Locally, the most trusted brands are juices Fructal, Lego toys, Zala bottled water, Laško beer, Barcaffe coffee, milk by Ljubljanske mlekarne, and Rama margarine.
For the first time ever, readers also selected the most trustworthy public figures in six categories.
Among television hosts Matjaž Tanko of POP TV came out on top, among actors comedian Jurij Zrnec, among musicians Adi Smolar, among business executives plane maker Pipistrel boss Ivo Boscarol, among politicians former President Danilo Türk and among athletes rower Iztok Čop.
The Trusted Brand 2013 survey was conducted in September and October 2012 among more than 18,000 Europeans, including 1,000 Slovenians.
Respondents did not chose from a list of brands but named them spontaneously. A total of 79,000 brands came up in the survey, of which Slovenian consumers named 6,775.
The winners will be honoured at a ceremony in the Cankarjev dom congress centre on 22 May.
