Mirna, 25 March (STA) - Fruit drinks maker Dana posted EUR 12.7m in revenues in 2009, which is 3% less than in the year before. Gross profit was also down to EUR 130,000, Dana director Marko Hren told the press in Mirna on Thursday.
According to Hren, the company sold EUR 11m worth of drinks in Slovenia last year, which is an improvement of 1% compared to 2008, while sales abroad dropped by 28%.
Dana will have to boost its marketing activities this year on the Italian, Austrian, the US and Chinese markets, he added.
The company sold a total of 35 million litres of drinks in 2009, which is 10% less than in the year before. Water and fruit drinks accounted for 82% of the total sales.
Hren emphasised among future plans an increase in sales on foreign markets by 7%, investments in marketing, new products and employees.
At the end of 2009 Dana employed 115 people, which is 5% less than at the end of 2008, Hren added.
