Ljubljana, 15 October (STA) - The average Slovenian net pay in August was EUR 964.55, which is 0.5% more than in July and up 5% year-on-year, figures from the Statistics Office show.
Slovenians received EUR 1,487.20 in average gross pay for August, which is up 0.4% on July and an increase of 5.1% from August 2009.
Average monthly gross salaries for August 2010 were the highest in IT and communication (EUR 2,053.45) and the lowest in administration and support services (EUR 959.87).
Average gross earnings in August increased the most in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (by 3.4%) and in arts, entertainment and recreation (by 2.5%), while the largest fall was in financial and insurance activities (by 4.4%) and in real estate (by 1.4%).
In the first eight months, average gross pay amounted to EUR 1,486.49 and the average net pay EUR 963.47, both representing a 4.1% increase on the same period last year.
