Ljubljana, 16 December (STA) - Average take-home pay paid out in Slovenia for October amounted to EUR 1,122, an increase of 1.6% in nominal terms (1.5% in real terms) compared to the month before, and 3.3% nominally year-on-year.
Fresh data from the national Statistics Office show that average gross pay for October was 1,742, up 1.7% in nominal terms (1.6% in real terms) compared to September's and up 3.9% compared to that for October 2018.
Gross monthly salaries for the first ten months of the year when compared to those paid out for the same period a year ago rose by 4.3% in nominal terms and by 2.7% in real terms.
The net average salary in the private sector paid out for October was by 2.3% higher than that paid out for September. The public sector benefited from a 0.4% rise.
The highest average net monthly salary was paid out in the electricity, gas and stem supply industry, at EUR 1,593. The lowest was in administrative and support service activities, at EUR 814.
Monthly earnings increased the most in agriculture, forestry and fishing (+5.5%) and dropped the most in public administration and defence, compulsory social security (-0.8%).
