Slovenia Bond Yield Hits Three-Year Low

Ljubljana, 21 February (STA) - Slovenian bond yields continued to retreat this week and the yield on ten-year bonds hit a three-year low of 4.12% on Friday, down 11 basis points over Thursday, according to data from electronic exchange MTS. The spread on German benchmark bonds narrowed to 244 basis points.

The retreat, started when Slovenia bailed out its banks in December, accelerated last week after the issue of 3.5 billion dollars worth of five- and ten-year bonds.

At the peak of the eurozone financial crisis in mid-2012, the yield exceeded 7%.
