Baku, 04 April (STA) - Slovenia is promoting its tourist destinations in Baku at the Azerbaijan International Travel and Tourism Fair, the biggest event of its sort in the region, which opened on Thursday.
Boštjan Skalar, the acting director of Spirit, the agency tasked with promoting Slovenia as an investment and tourism destination, said that Azerbaijani tourists were well acquainted with Slovenia.
They are mostly interested in spas and destinations providing medical treatment, as well as luxurious tourist destinations and eco-friendly destinations, a field in which Slovenia has a clear competitive advantage, according to Skalar.
Boss of Terme Olimia spa resort Zdravko Počivavšek believes a flight route should be launched between Ljubljana and Baku and visa processes simplified.
The Azerbaijani minister responsible for tourism, Abulfas Garayev, visited the Slovenian stand today.
