Ljubljana, 16 May (STA) - The Slovenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GZS) signed on Monday a cooperation agreement with EU India Chambers, as an Indian business delegation launched a Europe tour in Ljubljana. The GZS also hosted a business forum dedicated to boosting business ties between the countries.
GZS Vice-President Marta Turk labelled the event as a great opportunity to upgrade business relations between Slovenian and Indian business representatives, the GZS said in a press release.
The head of GZS Competition Centre, Ales Cantarutti, said that India was an important market for the future of Slovenian companies. GZS thus created a programme dubbed India 2012 that aims to double the number of Slovenian companies on the Indian market.
Cantarutti added that Slovenia increased its exports to India by more than 50% in 2009 - the time of the biggest crisis. The Indian business delegation that started its Europe tour in Ljubljana will go on to Hungary, Austria, Czech Republic and Poland, the GZS said in a press release.
