Ljubljana, 16 March (STA) - Megra 2010, the 23rd international construction industry fair, will kick off in Gornja Radgona on 23 March featuring 410 exhibitors from 15 countries on 18,000 sq. meters of fair grounds.
The focus this year will be on environmentally friendly construction and way of living, director of the fair grounds operator Pomurski sejem, Janez Erjavec told the press on Tuesday.
The motto of the biggest construction fair in Slovenia will be "Sustainable Potential", highlighting efficient energy use, the use of renewables and environmentally friendly construction adjusted to climate change.
Erjavec said that the impact of the economic crisis slightly reduced the number of exhibitors, but noted that he was still happy with the turnout.
The accompanying programme will include exhibitions of natural materials, free lectures on efficient energy use and on possibilities of employment in construction and 19 panels.
Traditional awards for quality in construction will also be conferred.
The fair, which will be opened by Environment and Spatial Planning Minister Roko Zarnic, will run until 27 March.
