Ljubljana, 09 February (STA) - Slovenia exported EUR 16.04bn worth of goods in 2009, down 19% compared to the year before, while the imports amounted to EUR 16.96bn, 26.4% less than in 2008, according to the provisional data presented by the Statistics Office on Tuesday. This put the trade gap at EUR 918.6m and the import to export ratio at 94.6%.
In December 2009, Slovenia's exports stood at EUR 1.23bn (up 3.1% year-on-year) and imports at EUR 1.36bn (down 10.6% compared to December 2008), setting the import to export ratio at 90%.
Slovenia exported EUR 815.4m worth of goods to EU member states (66.5% of the exports), while the imports from the EU amounted to EUR 1.09bn (79.8% of the imports).
Exports to non-EU members amounted to EUR 410.2m , while imports from outside the bloc stood at EUR 275.1m.
