Ljubljana, 31 August (STA) - Slovenia's unemployment rate remained flat at 7.1% in the second quarter of the year according to the Labour Force Survey, the measure used by the International Labour Organisation and Eurostat, the Statistics Office said Tuesday.
The unemployment rate in the first quarter of this year was 7.5% for men and 6.7% for women. It was highest in the age group 15-24, where it stood at 15.8%, 1.1 percentage points higher than in the previous quarter.
The number of people in employment totalled 968,000, up 3,000 on the previous quarter due to rising numbers of the self-employed and those temping through student job agencies. The figure is however still 13,000 lower than a year ago.
