Nazarje, 02 July (STA) - BSH Hisni aparati, a maker of small home appliances, increased revenues by 5% last year to EUR 240m to earn a pre-tax profit of EUR 21.7m, its director Rudolf Kloetscher said on Friday in Nazarje as he addressed the press to mark the company's 40th anniversary.
BSH Hisni aparati today employs more than 1,000 workers, who last year produced 5.8 million home appliances. The plan for 2010 is 6.7 million home appliances and more than EUR 10m in investments, Kloetscher added.
This year the company, a subsidiary of BSH Bosch und Siemens Hausgerate, will expand its activities and try to boost sales in the entire SE Europe, according to him.
The chairman of Bosch and Siemens Home Appliances Group Kurt-Ludwig Gutberlet added that the location in Nazarje was innovative and competitive, especially in the area of coffeemakers. With coffee from coffeemakers becoming a global trend, this market is still growing, he added.
He expects 2010 to be a good year for the Bosch and Siemens group and for the Slovenian subsidiary. There are no natural boundaries for the growth, Gutberlet told the press conference, which was also attended by Economy Minister Matej Lahovnik.
