Bled, 21 October (STA) - Knauf Insulation, Hella Saturnus and Carthago were declared the best foreign investors in Slovenia at the FDI Summit 2010, a two-day conference on foreign direct investment, in Bled on Thursday.
The winners, who received the awards from Economy Minister Darja Radic, were selected by The Slovenia Times magazine, the Economy Ministry and the Public Agency for the Promotion of Foreign Investments and Entrepreneurship (JAPTI).
Drywall maker Knauf Insulation from Skofja Loka was awarded in the category business results. The company invested its entire profit in new technologies, development and ecology, the organisers said in a press release.
The Ljubljana-based car parts maker Hella Saturnus convinced the jury with its success in the time of crisis. Despite the economic turmoil, which has hit the car industry hard, Hella Saturnus increased the number of employees in the past five years and raised revenues. The company makes 91% of the sales on foreign markets.
The winner among the recipients of financial incentives for foreign investors, Carthago, was awarded for its high-end light motor home, which significantly contributed to positive results of the entire group, according to the jury.
