Ljubljana, 16 August (STA) - After inching up in May, average monthly pay increased by another 0.3% at the monthly level in June to stand at EUR 985.95 net, up 2.1% year-on-year. The average gross salary was EUR 1520.92, up 0.3% from May and 2% from June 2010.
In the first six months of the year, the average monthly net pay increased by 2.8%, compared to the same period last year, while the average gross wage was 2.6% higher, preliminary data released by the Statistics Office on Tuesday show.
Average monthly gross pay in June increased in most activities compared to May, most notably in electricity, gas and steam supply (by 8.5%), construction (by 3.4%), and transport and storage (by 2.9%).
The largest decrease was meanwhile recorded in financial and insurance activities (by 4.7%) and in health and social work (by 1.1%).
The average number of hours paid per person amounted to 170 in June, which is the same as in the previous month. Average monthly gross earnings per hour stood at EUR 8.93, which is 0.2% more than in May.
