Ljubljana, 16 December (STA) - Wages in Slovenia inched up in October, with gross as well as net wages rising across-the-board at both the monthly and the annual level, the Statistics Office said Monday.
The average net wage was just shy of 1,000 euros, up 1.7% compared to the month before and 1.3 more than in October 2012.
Gross wages averaged EUR 1,526.11, an increase of 2.2% over the previous month and up 0.7% year-on-year.
At the monthly level wages dropped only in education (-0.4%). The highest increases were recorded in mining (7.5%) and electricity, gas and steam supply (6.9%).
Average net wages rose 1.2% in the public sector and 2% in the private sector.
